The KMC product is a mobile data service that provides members with a free data bundle each month, ensuring they stay connected through a simple and convenient process via the KMC portal.
The KMC product is available to all members with active, RICA-registered SIM cards in South Africa. The product is designed for use with prepaid SIM cards and certain top-up contracts. Full contract SIM cards are not eligible.
Upon enrollment, you will receive a welcome SMS with a link to the KMC portal. You’ll need to register on the portal, confirm your registration via email, and agree to the terms and conditions to activate your account.
The KMC product offers one free data bundle per month, depending on your choice, the type of contract your have, the network you on and the type of contract you have ie Prepaid or Contract and Top up. This product ensures you stay connected, even when your primary data resources are depleted.
Each month, you are entitled to one free data bundle, which you can select on the KMC portal (limit of 8 per annum). This bundle expires 30 days after it is successfully loaded onto your mobile number. Unused data does not carry over to the next month.
No, you cannot purchase additional data bundles at any time through the KMC portal.
If you do not use your free data bundle within 30 days, it will expire, and any unused data will be forfeited. You will not be able to carry over the data to the next month.
After selecting your desired data bundle on the KMC portal, you will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your mobile number. Enter the OTP on the portal, and your data bundle will be recharged automatically. The typical response time is between 15 minutes to an hour, but it may take up to 24 hours in some cases. On weekends allow for 48 hours to receive your Data Bundle.
If you do not receive your data bundle within 24 hours, please contact KMC customer support. Ensure that your SIM card is active, RICA-registered, and compatible with the data bundle to avoid delivery issues.
No, the KMC product operates during standard business hours, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Data requests made outside of these hours will be processed on the next business day.
The data bundles provided by KMC are subject to the terms and conditions of the third-party network providers. Service availability, quality, and speed depend on the selected network provider. Members must also comply with the network provider’s terms, and misuse may result in the suspension or termination of services.
No, the free data bundle is non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged. It is linked to your registered mobile number and must be used within 30 days of loading.
The KMC product includes multiple layers of security to protect your data. You will need to enter a security pin, which is sent to your registered email, before accessing the data bundles. Additionally, an OTP is required to confirm your mobile number before recharging your data.
If you forget your KMC portal login details, you can reset your password by clicking the “Forgot Password” link on the login page. Follow the instructions to receive a password reset link via email.
